 DIVINE INSPIRATION OF SCRIPTURE

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work (2Tim 3:16-17).
To hold on to the divine inspiration of Scripture means we believe that the Bible, with its 66 books, is inspired by God, and that we believe:
• God inspired more than 40 human authors throughout 1500 years to write down His words.
• God sovereignly preserved, transmitted, translated and confirmed the Bible as divinely inspired through the agencies of men till today.
• Though no original text exists but only copies from which the Bible is being translated into thousands of languages and versions, yet God’s Word is accurately preserved and conveyed through the continual inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
• God’s Word in the Bible is complete, absolute, infallible, unalterable and eternal.
• There can be absolutely no addition to or subtraction from God’s Word in the Bible.
• No other words outside the Bible can be considered divinely inspired, no matter how true.
